Typed Captions plugin

The Typed Captions plugin re-introduces BBB’s classic manual captions as a plugin with a cleaner UI.
Moderators (or assigned captioners) can type captions in a sidekick panel, and they appear to viewers just like automatic captions at the bottom of the presentation area.

How it works​

  1. Open the Typed Captions sidekick panel.
  2. Start typing the spoken content in real time.
  3. Captions render for attendees in the standard caption bar beneath the presentation.

  • ✅ Lets you keep high accuracy with a human captioner.

Tips​

  • Assign a dedicated captioner for best results.
  • Keep lines short and press Enter to push updates frequently.
  • Combine with your meeting’s language settings for consistent UX.
